Online Manzimyoor (“we”) runs a matrimony service for families of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who can see it and the choices you have, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account details: email, mobile number and a password (stored only as a secure scrambled hash).
- Biodata you choose to add: name, date of birth, gender, height, marital status, religion and community, mother tongue, native place and residence, education, work, family details, lifestyle, faith details (for example sect, gotra or horoscope details), partner preferences and an “about” text.
- Photos and files: photos and, if you upload one, a horoscope (kundli / Teknì). Location data (EXIF/GPS) is removed from photos on upload.
- Activity: interests, shortlists, blocks, reports, messages, profile visits, and when you last used the site.
- Technical data: your IP address is used briefly to protect forms from abuse. We don't use advertising trackers.
Religion and community are sensitive details. You share them so that suitable families can find you; you give your consent for this when you register.
Identity verification (Aadhaar through DigiLocker)
Members with a paid plan verify their identity once before chat and phone numbers open. You can do this with your Aadhaar through DigiLocker: you give your consent, sign in on DigiLocker's official page with your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile, and allow your Aadhaar to be shared. This is handled by our licensed verification partner, Cashfree Payments, which shares your Aadhaar details with us only for this check. To open DigiLocker on the right page, your registered mobile number is used to check whether you already have a DigiLocker account.
- We keep only your name, date of birth, gender, state and the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar, to confirm that your profile is genuine.
- We never store your Aadhaar number, Aadhaar photo, address or the Aadhaar file. Your Aadhaar number and OTP are typed only on DigiLocker, never on our website.
- Using Aadhaar is your choice: you can verify with a call with our team instead.
Why we use it
- To show your profile to members looking for a match, under the privacy settings you choose.
- To suggest matches based on partner preferences.
- To review profiles and photos, verify members who ask, and act on reports.
- To send notifications you can switch off, and to reply when you contact us.
- To keep the service secure and prevent fraud and misuse.
Who can see what
- Visitors who aren't signed in see, at most, a limited profile with no name, photo, family details or contact — and only if you allow it.
- Signed-in members see your profile with your first name; photos follow the setting you choose.
- Your contact number is shared only with a member whose interest has been accepted by both sides.
- Our staff can see profiles to review and support them. Private messages are not read except when a conversation is reported for misuse.
- We never sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the service, such as our web host and, if switched on, an email provider to send notifications. They process data only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, interests and messages are deleted permanently. We may keep limited records where the law requires it, or for an open fraud report.
Your rights and choices
- See and correct your details at any time from your account.
- Choose who sees your photos and profile, or pause the profile.
- Withdraw consent and delete your account from Settings & privacy.
- Ask us any question about your data, or raise a grievance, using the details below.
Children
The service is only for adults of legal marriage age. We remove any profile that appears to belong to someone under that age.
